Keeping Families Together in Alameda County
Family Emergency Shelter Coalition (FESCO) was founded in 1986 by a coalition of area churches/community members to address their concerns about the growing number of families falling into homelessness in Mid-Alameda County with the mission to keep families together during their period of homelessness.
FESCO is currently comprised of over 24 churches/community members in Mid-Alameda County, most located/living/working in Hayward. FESCO serves low/extremely low-income homeless families with food, emergency, transitional, and permanent housing, and supportive services in furtherance of its mission to move these families toward self-sufficiency and permanent housing.
We are raising awareness and funds to support this remarkable organization continue providing these services to the homeless families in our community and our goal is to raise at least $500 so please donate today!
FESCO, making a difference since day one. In its founding documents in 1986, special emphasis was placed on keeping families together during their period of homelessness. Thus, in addition to serving single mothers with children, FESCO serves single fathers, two-parent families with children, and teenage males as part of a family group. FESCO remains the only Shelter in Southern Alameda County that serves families in all of these configurations.
FESCO is excited to announce that as of July 1, 2018, FESCO is part of the La Familia Network. This means that FESCO is able to share operations costs and provide more resources to our families. All FESCO donations are used specifically to benefit FESCO families.
